Renée

About a year ago, my sweet friend, Julia, gave me her French edition of the Magnetic Poetry Kit. Although I never used it with my students, I’ve gotten a lot of mileage out of it at home.

Every few weeks, I dump out the magnets and make a short poem that speaks to how I’m feeling. It’s been a fun and cathartic exercise. I enjoy the simplicity of it. As a perfectionist, it helps to have casual ways to express myself.

This poem was written after a particularly inspiring morning. Hope restored and heart filled; I present, “Renée.”

What do you think? Should I do more of these?
